Christmas on the Square in Weatherford at its NEW TIME

Everyone is excited about Christmas on the Square and, as always, there will be lots of fun festivities to enjoy!  The event is FREE to attend and will take place on Saturday, December 1st with a new time from 12 noon – 5 PM around the Historic Downtown Weatherford Square.  The Annual Christmas Parade will kick off the event, starting at 10:00 AM at the Ninth Grade Center and following its route down South Main and west around the Square. 

During the 20+ year tradition of Christmas on the Square the event has continued to grow, especially since being moved to Saturday a few years ago. In keeping with the growth the event has been moved to daytime hours to allow for continued expansion.  By having the event during the daylight hours attendees will enjoy a lovely environment for shopping and visiting the vendor booths & downtown merchants while enjoying the beauty and charm of the historic Downtown area.

Christmas on the Square is a good ol’ fashion community event.  There are lots of Children’s Activities, choirs singing, food booths, craft booths, gift ideas and so much more! Kids and parents alike will enjoy taking a break and visiting with Frosty, Rudolph and all of the season’s favorite characters.

A tradition at Christmas on the Square, and something that all the kiddos look forward to each and every year, is having a photo taken with the guest of honor, Santa Clause himself!  This year, Santa will be flying in and making his appearance at First Financial Bank.  Thanks to all of Santa’s Helpers at FFB, kids will be able to take home their photo with Santa at no cost to Mom and Dad. 

Christmas on the Square will end at 5:00 PM though the downtown businesses will be staying open late for shoppers to stroll the square and enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful Parker County Square.  There’s not a prettier site than the downtown area all lit up in celebration of the holidays!  So come on out for the parade at 10:00 AM, enjoy Christmas on the Square from 12 –5:00 PM and then stay late to shop with the local merchants or enjoy a delicious meal with one of our downtown restaurants!  What a great day in Weatherford!!
